The Fabian Society of Nigeria (FSN), a non-government organization, plays a central in the development of political ideas and public policy on the left of centre. Analyzing the key challenges facing the people of Nigeria and the rest of the industrialized world in a changing society and global economy, the society's programme aims to explore the political ideas and the policy reforms which will define progressive politics in our Country. |
The Fabian Society of Nigeria (FSN) has been characterised by a passionate commitment to social justice and a belief in the progressive improvement of society. It will always maintain a diversity of opinion, motivated by the desire to stimulate debate rather than to promote a particular political "line." Its publications will represent only the views of their authors. The Society will be unique among think tanks in being a democratically constituted membership organisation. It will be affiliated with all trade unions, arms of governments in Nigeria and Democratic political parties in Nigeria, but are editorially and organizationally independent. Through its publications, seminars and conferences, the Society will provide an arena for open-minded public debates, Upholding Democratic principles to all its’ citizens. Analysing the key challenges facing the Nigeria and the rest of the industrialised world in a changing society and global economy, the Society’s programme aims to explore the political ideas and the policy reforms which will define progressive politics in the new Democratic Nigeria. |
The Fabian Society of Nigeria (FSN), will be a major influence in the modernisation of the Democratic principles .Meanwhile the society's growing membership and ever larger numbers coming to its public conferences, grassroots public training /workshops at - whatever the wider trends to political apathy and disaffection - the appetite for radical thought and searching debate on the left of centre will remains undiminished. At the start of the 21st century the society will play as crucial a role in the political life of the country as ever. |
OUR AIMS: |
- The Fabian Society of Nigeria‘s role is to defend and work in the interests of the betterment of the Nigerian people.
- To promote Nigerian culture and our unique identity in a land that does, unquestionably, belong to the Nigerians citizens.
- To construct a support network for like-minded Nigerians people by which we can sustain our people, offer advice and fight their corner through training, workshops, seminars and conferences.
- To build an infrastructure of organised patriotic resistance to the tyranny and corruption of mainstream politics.
- To network effectively with and provide support to patriotic Nigerians who are equally disillusioned with this corrupt political system.
- To drive back the enemies of our Nigerian culture, values, lifestyle, law, language and the civilisation we possess and to uphold the family unit by every legal means possible.
- To actively expose and destabilise all people, organisations and bodies that do not act in the interests of the Nigerians people – the enemy within.
- To seek from the Nigerian people a mandate to govern so that we may right the many wrongs already done and better serves them.

Membership |
Our Yearly Joining fee for twelve months is N8, 000, paid directly to the society's bank account. As a member, you will receive two free latest pamphlets and our magazine Society's Review / Affiliates Memberships /Corporate Membership (Contributions). Our members receive at least four agenda-setting Society's pamphlets each year, along with the quarterly Society's magazine, plus invitations to special members events - these have included our Leaders conversation' evening, plus regular lectures and debates with the leading politicians and thinkers, as well as additional local, regional and voluntary society activities. They can participate in online discussions and listen to the latest podcasts from leading politicians. |
Executive Committee |
The Society's activities will be governed by the Executive committee, elected annually in a ballot. |
The Young Democrats Fabians |
The Young Democrats will be the under 21s section of The Fabian Society of Nigeria- Centre Left think; this will be set up in August 2011. This will be the only think thank run by and for young people. They will develop policy ideas through seminars, conferences, workshops and pamphlets. We anticipates to organise regular political and social events, we shall seek to encourage debates and political, education amongst our members. |
The Fabian Society of Nigeria – Women's Network |
The Fabian Society of Nigeria- Women's network will be launch in August 2011, and it is run by a committee of volunteers. It will volunteer section of the society. It report to the Executive Society's Committees. |
The Society's Women's Network aims to bring together: |
- Create a thriving network for social and political change.
- Connect Democratic Society-network with all women in the legislatives in Nigeria.
- Provide new ways in which women from all backgrounds can engage in political debates, Public workshops.

The Fabian Society of Nigeria will hold a number of high profile reception and policy discussion and regular works with voluntary sector organisations, on campaigns that affect women's lives – including women and fiancé, work / life balance and family related policy. Speakers at events will be representatives from leading charities in Nigeria, Business workshops on poverty elevations workshop to the grassroots Nigerians. |
